We had a great evening last week at the wine tasting and thanks to everyone who contributed to its success with their charming presence. Special thanks go to Ece Yacman (Econ ‘17) who helped us to organize the event!
The year is quickly approaching its end, so we thought of a special treat for you. We have been working several weeks and our efforts bear some amazing fruit! Did you ever want to visit one of those legendary tech companies with parrots in their bar and funky relaxation areas? Then this is your time as we convinced Social Point to invite us for a company tour with subsequent food and drinks on their premises. Social Point was founded in 2008 in Barcelona and has become one of the largest companies for social gaming with over 300 employees.
Why would you be interested in coming? Of course to meet fellow alumni and to have a great evening! Besides, for skilled social scientists such as ourselves, we have the unique opportunity to talk with the head data scientist about their work and some fellow alumni of our community will tell us first-hand from their experiences working in this trendy field. Imagine their database, over millions of unique users leave data traces in real time while they use their products. Just imagine the potential for research on individual decision making?
But also the macroeconomists among us should be interested: How much money is the right amount for the game economy? How does one identify bubbles or decrease inflation without harming the gamers’ satisfaction in the virtual world?
Are you interested? Then do not hesitate and join us for the evening of the 12th of December from 7 pm until around 9.30 pm! Thanks to Social Point, the event is completely free for you! Please let us know that you are coming via this link by the 6th of December so that we can make sure to have enough food and drinks for everyone.
PS: If you are not part of it yet, join our group on Facebook! It is a great way to get in touch with other alumni around Barcelona!
